How to build English vocabulary habits (Hebrew speakers)

Most learners fail because words are not reviewed at the right time — not because they lack apps. This guide fits VocaApp's tools plus our Word of the Day. More: learning center.

1. Start with words you will actually use

Collect vocabulary from work, TV, news, or school. Add pairs in Manage Words or Translate. Thirty high-interest words beat five hundred you never open.

2. Use active recall

Recite and Quiz force retrieval. Ten to fifteen minutes daily beats one long weekend session.

3. Spaced repetition (simple version)

Use daily goals and streaks. Words you miss twice in Quiz — review the same day in Recite.

4. Listening and dictation

Dictation and Listen on the same list — many learners read a word but do not recognize it spoken.

5. Context with stories

Story mode uses your words in short text. Then Quiz the same words again.

6. One new word daily

Word of the Day on the homepage — add in one click.

7. Measure progress

Track streak and daily goal. If the streak breaks, lower the goal to five words and continue.

8. Games and social modes

Games for warm-up; Fight and Voca Talk for motivation — not a replacement for Recite/Quiz.

Sample week (~30 min/day)

1. Mon–Thu: Recite, Quiz, WOTD, Dictation.
2. Fri: Story with hard words.
3. Sat: Games + last 7 archive words.
4. Sun: Listen only or catch-up.
